DNV Council to review options for Small-Scale Multi-Unit Housing

The District of North Vancouver Council will review policy and zoning options to implement new provincial legislation requiring most single-family lots within the Urban Containment Boundary to allow three to six homes per lot. The legislation mandates zoning changes, exempts hazard-prone lands, and requires public engagement. Lots under 280 sqm must allow three units; larger lots, four; and those near bus routes, six units. Off-street parking is not required for six-unit developments. Draft bylaws are expected by mid-April, with adoption in June 2026.
