B.C. demands federal housing funds announced for Ontario

British Columbia is seeking equal access to nearly $9 billion in federal funding offered to Ontario for municipal infrastructure and housing development charge reductions. The funding aims to boost condo construction and address housing supply issues. Ontario also received a temporary HST waiver on new homes under $1 million. British Columbia wants similar support but may use funds differently and has not committed to matching federal contributions due to its budget deficit.
